Charles Darwin University (CDU) is an Australian university based in the Northern Territory (CRICOS Provider No. 00300K). It is a dual-sector institution offering both TAFE (vocational) courses and higher education, with campuses in Darwin, including Casuarina and the Education and Community Precinct in the city centre, Alice Springs and Sydney (815 George Street, Haymarket), as well as other centres across Australia. CDU has more than 30 years of experience in online and distance education. The university states that it ranks among the top 22% of universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027.
Study areas include accounting, business, engineering, IT, education, health, nursing and midwifery, medicine, law, psychology, humanities, environmental science, Indigenous knowledges, tourism and trades, at TAFE, undergraduate, postgraduate and research level. For international students, CDU International College offers pathway diplomas and a Masters Qualifying Program, and there are English language courses (ELICOS).
Applications are made online, with no application fee, or through an authorised agent. Most international students must be at least 18. Scholarships include the Vice-Chancellor's International High Achievers Scholarship (50% of tuition) and the CDU Global Merit Scholarship (30%). On the Casuarina campus, CDU Village offers student accommodation, and homestay and off-campus options are also available.

CDU International College offers two-semester diplomas that give entry to the second year of degrees in business, accounting, digital enterprise, computer science or IT.

Undergraduate entry requires a qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 (for example, the IB Diploma with 24 points), and every course has academic and English requirements. Applications are made online with no application fee, or through an authorised agent. International students under 18 are not accepted unless approved to live with a parent, custodian or suitable relative. Documents:

Accepted English evidence includes CDU ELICOS (EAP 3 and 4), IELTS (including One Skill Retake), PTE, TOEFL, Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and the Duolingo English Test. Required scores are set per course and shown on each course page; some courses require higher levels or specific tests.
- Vice-Chancellor's International High Achievers Scholarship (VCIHAS): 50% of tuition for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree; requires a score of at least 95% in the highest completed qualification; applications for Semester 1 2027 close 31 January 2027 and for Semester 2 2027 on 4 July 2027
- CDU Global Merit Scholarship: 30% of tuition for select courses, for students starting in 2026 and 2027; assessed automatically
- CDU Bachelor of Nursing Scholarship: up to 20% of tuition for students starting in 2027; assessed automatically
CDU Village, on the Casuarina campus, is run by Campus Living Villages with rooms for singles and couples, a pool and a community room. In Alice Springs, CDU students can stay at the Alice Springs Student Accommodation (ASSA). Off campus, options include homestay agencies, StudentLiving Darwin apartments near Casuarina, and Comfort Inn Darwin and Parkside Studios near the City campus; the StudyStays noticeboard lists rentals. The university advises booking short-term accommodation before arrival, as Darwin rents are high.
