The University of Wollongong (UOW) is a public university based in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, on Northfields Avenue. It was founded on donations from local people. Besides the main Wollongong campus, it teaches at campuses across the NSW east coast, including Bega Valley, Eurobodalla, Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands, Sutherland, Liverpool and Sydney CBD, and at locations abroad such as Dubai, Malaysia, Hong Kong and India. UOW reports 35,076 students and is registered for international students under CRICOS provider number 00102E.
UOW offers more than 300 courses through three faculties: Arts, Society and Business; Engineering and Information Sciences; and Science, Medicine and Health. Programmes include bachelor's degrees (for example a three-year Bachelor of Arts) and double degrees, postgraduate coursework degrees and research degrees such as the PhD, Master of Philosophy and Master of Research. The university has partnerships with institutions in 45 countries.
International students can apply through a registered UOW agent, directly to UOW, or, if they are completing an Australian secondary qualification or the IB, through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Housing options include UOW student residences, a homestay programme and help with private rentals.

Housing
UOW runs five student residences in Wollongong, applied for through the online Accommodation Portal:
- Bangalay: self-catered, across the road from the campus
- Campus East: catered and self-catered, near the beach and town centre
- Graduate House: self-catered, for postgraduate students and families
- i-House: catered rooms near the campus and North Wollongong station
- Kooloobong Village: self-catered, on campus
There is also a UOW Homestay Program, the UOW StudyStays listing service and a Student Housing Support Officer who helps with private rentals.
