Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia "Manuel Massotti Littel"

Higher education centre in Murcia, Spain

The Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia "Manuel Massotti Littel" (Massotti) is a public higher music conservatory in Murcia, supported by the Government of the Region of Murcia. It was founded in 1918, became a higher conservatory in 1972 and has been located at Calle Alcalde Gaspar de la Peña 9, next to the city centre, since 1985.

Its four-year studies (60 ECTS credits per year) lead to the Título de Grado en Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de Música, which is equivalent to a university bachelor's degree (MECES level 2) and gives access to master's and doctoral studies. Five specialities are offered:

  • Composition
  • Conducting (choir or orchestra)
  • Performance, in 25 instruments plus singing and flamenco singing
  • Musicology
  • Music Education (Pedagogía)

Admission is by an entrance test for holders of the Bachillerato, the European or International Baccalaureate, a higher or university degree, or the over-25 university entrance exam. The conservatory has taken part in Erasmus since 2003 and receives exchange students from partner institutions; incoming students are expected to have a good level of Spanish for theory classes.
