The Conservatorio Superior de Música "Rafael Orozco" is a higher music conservatory in Córdoba, Andalusia. It was created in 1902 by the provincial council (Diputación Provincial); in 1922 it was incorporated into the State, which gave official validity to its teaching, and in 1972 it received the rank of conservatorio superior. It is named after the Córdoba-born pianist Rafael Orozco and occupies a building on Calle Ángel de Saavedra 1 whose history goes back to the 16th century.
The conservatory teaches the higher music degree (Estudios de Grado en Música) in four specialities:
- Composition
- Sound and music technology (Sonología), taught since 2024-25
- Flamenco, with flamenco singing, flamenco guitar and flamencology pathways
- Performance, with voice, guitar, orchestral instruments and piano pathways
Flamenco has been taught since 2011-12, and the conservatory states that it was the first in Andalusia to offer Sonología.
Admission is through an entrance test (prueba de acceso) regulated by the Order of 9 February 2022. The conservatory takes part in Erasmus+, publishes calls for student mobility and receives incoming Erasmus students.
