Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño "Mateo Inurria"

Higher education centre in Cordoba, Spain

The Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño Mateo Inurria is a public art and design school in Córdoba. Its origins go back to 1866, when the Escuela Provincial de Bellas Artes was created, and it is housed in the historic Palacio del Duque de Hornachuelos. It teaches the Bachillerato de Artes, higher vocational art and design courses (ciclos formativos de grado superior) and higher arts education in design.

At higher education level the school offers the Grado en Diseño Gráfico, an official higher arts education degree in graphic design, equivalent to a university bachelor's degree, taught in Córdoba since 2012-13. The programme has 240 ECTS credits over four years, covers fields such as branding, editorial design and packaging, ends with a final project and external work placements, and is taught in the afternoon. Students can spend a mobility period abroad through Erasmus+; the school holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027.

The two-year higher vocational courses (120 ECTS) cover animation, photography, illustration, advertising graphics, ephemeral architecture, interior decoration projects, furniture, and leather and wood sculpture. Admission to both the vocational courses and the design degree requires an entrance exam, unless the applicant is exempt through certain academic qualifications.
