The Deutsche Schule Barcelona (DSB, Colegio Alemán de Barcelona), founded in 1894, is a private international school in Esplugues de Llobregat, on the western edge of Barcelona, that combines the German and Spanish curricula. It is an officially recognised German school abroad, funded by the Federal Republic of Germany, holds the German quality seal “Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule”, and is run by the Deutscher Schulverein Barcelona. The campus has more than 1,500 students and includes sports facilities, an assembly hall, a canteen, science rooms and a library.

- Deutsches Internationales Abitur and Spanish Bachillerato after twelve school years
The school takes children of any mother tongue. Children without German can start in Kindergarten at age 2-3, or join the Begegnungsklassen (encounter classes) in 5th year of primary after a one-year German preparatory course. Students from the German system can join up to the start of Class 11; those without Spanish follow two years of Spanish support classes. Computer science can be chosen as a main subject from Class 8. A public bus links the school to the Zona Universitaria metro station.

Programmes
- Kindergarten (I2-I5, ages 2-6), with a pre-school programme in I5 and language support for children whose first language is not German
- Primary (Classes 1-4)
- Secondary (Classes 5-12), with computer science available as a main subject from Class 8
- Begegnungsklassen (encounter classes) from 5th year of primary for pupils new to German
- Final qualifications: Deutsches Internationales Abitur and Spanish Bachillerato
A German preparatory course runs alongside 4th year of primary, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Admission
- Children without German: entry to Kindergarten at age 2-3, or to the encounter classes in 5th year of primary after the German preparatory course (no entrance test for the course; last school report required)
- Pupils from the German system: entry to Kindergarten, primary or secondary up to the start of Class 11, with an initial interview on continuity and recognition of studies
- Pupils without Spanish: two years of small-group Spanish classes; those with some Spanish take a level test
- All pupils must study Catalan (beginner level) to have German secondary studies recognised in Spain
