École Française Internationale de Marbella (EFIM)

Primary and secondary school in Marbella, Spain

The École Française Internationale de Marbella (EFIM) is a French nursery and primary school on Calle Jacinto Benavente in Marbella, in the province of Málaga. It offers a trilingual education in French, Spanish and English and is homologated by the French Ministry of Education for all classes from Petite Section (PS) to Cours Moyen 2 (CM2). The school year follows a French calendar adapted to Spain.

  • Maternelle: Très Petite Section to Grande Section (ages 2-6)
  • Élémentaire: CP to CM2 (ages 6-11)
  • Collège classes 6ème to 3ème (ages 11-15), taught through the French distance-learning centre CNED in a supervised format

Trilingual learning starts in nursery. About half of learning time is linked to languages: around 25% is English and Spanish lessons and 25% is French-curriculum subjects, such as mathematics or sport, co-taught in English or Spanish with the French teacher. The history and geography of France and Spain are taught in each country's language, and the language teachers are native speakers. The school offers school transport and a lunch service.
