Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño de Alicante/Alacant
Higher education centre in Alicante, Spain
The Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño de Alicante (EASDA) is a school of art and design in Alicante that belongs to the Instituto Superior de Enseñanzas Artísticas de la Comunitat Valenciana (ISEACV). The school traces its origins in the city back more than a hundred years, and since the ISEACV was created in 2007 it has been one of the thirteen centres that make it up. It is located in the north of Alicante, about 2 km from the Universidad de Alicante.
Its higher education programmes are four-year degrees in design that include a final project and a work placement and lead to the official Título de Grado en Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de Diseño, which by law is equivalent in all respects to a university bachelor's degree. Four specialities are offered:
- Diseño de Moda (fashion design)
- Diseño de Interiores (interior design)
- Diseño Gráfico (graphic design)
- Diseño de Producto (product design)
EASDA also teaches an official one-year master's degree, the Máster en Enseñanzas Artísticas in art and design for extended realities and video games (60 ECTS credits, including 250 hours of work placement), as well as vocational training cycles in art and design. Admission to the degrees is through a specific entrance test for holders of the Bachillerato; holders of a Técnico Superior de Artes Plásticas y Diseño qualification can enter directly. Through the Erasmus programme, the school runs exchanges with other European art schools.
