The Escola de Arte e Superior de Deseño Mestre Mateo (EASD Mestre Mateo) is a school of art and design in the historic centre of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, at Rúa Virxe da Cerca 32. It traces its origins to the School of Arts and Crafts of Santiago, which opened in 1888. Higher education studies were introduced in 1992, and in 2005 the new higher studies in design gave the school its current name.
The school teaches degrees in higher arts education (Graos en Ensinanzas Artísticas Superiores) in design:
- Fashion Design
- Product Design, general itinerary
- Product Design, dual itinerary in jewellery and accessories
It also offers higher vocational cycles in photography, sculpture techniques and artistic jewellery, and a gilding workshop module.
Admission to the degrees is through access and admission tests (probas de acceso e admisión), with an extraordinary session in September; the call for the 2026/27 academic year is closed. The school runs Erasmus+ traineeship mobility calls for its students, including one for the first semester of 2026/27.
