The Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) is the university of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, a university city since 1495. Since 1989 it has been part of the Galician University System, together with the University of Vigo and the University of A Coruña. The USC has two campuses, in Santiago de Compostela and in Lugo, and its research is organised in 299 research groups supported by research institutes and centres.

Of these, 31 are in Social Science and Law and Arts and Humanities, and 30 in Science, Engineering and Health Sciences. Postgraduate students can choose from 68 master's degrees and 55 PhD programmes run by the International PhD School. The university also offers its own USC-specific courses, language learning and a Summer University.
According to the university, public prices for degrees, master's degrees and PhD studies have not increased since the 2018-2019 academic year, and a monthly budget of €750 to €900 is enough to live on. The University Residence Service (SUR) offered 960 places in halls of residence for the 2025/2026 academic year; shared rent is the other main option.
