The Universidad Intercontinental de la Empresa (UIE) is a private, non-profit university in Galicia, with its own campuses in A Coruña and Vigo and its administrative seat in Santiago de Compostela. It describes itself as an accredited university of public service under private management, and grew out of more than three decades of higher education activity by Afundación. UIE has three faculties: Business Administration and Law; Science, Technology and Health Management; and Engineering and Business Technology.

Teaching is based on small groups, mentoring, compulsory tutorials and continuous assessment without final exams, and degrees include internships in public or private companies in Spain or abroad. International agreements allow students to study in other countries. Admission involves an aptitude test, an English test (except for Nursing) and a personal interview. UIE runs a student residence in the centre of Pontevedra for up to 140 residents, and its scholarship plans give priority to talented students with limited means.

Degrees are taught on campus in A Coruña and Vigo. Students who change degree after the first year keep 100% of their credits within the same branch of knowledge, or 70% in a different branch.

UIE also runs 11 executive education programmes, including the Executive Master in Business, the Executive Master in International Business and the Executive Master in Seafood Management.
Admission
Applications are open to final-year secondary school students, higher vocational training (FP) graduates, students from other international education systems and university students switching degrees. Steps for bachelor's degrees:
- Documents: photo and ID or passport, secondary school grades, proof of English level (except Nursing)
- Aptitude questionnaire and a general entrance test (written expression and business orientation)
- English test (except Nursing) and a personal interview, on campus or by video call
- Place reservation to obtain the admission letter
Enrolment follows once the applicant holds a university entrance qualification (ABAU/PAU, UNEDasiss or recognition of foreign secondary studies). Master's applicants submit their degree, full transcript and CV and take an English test.
Language requirements
Applicants to bachelor's degrees submit proof of their English level (e.g. Cambridge, Trinity, British Council, EOI or TOEFL) and take an English placement test; neither applies to Nursing. Applicants to master's degrees also take an English test. The pages do not state a minimum level or the language of instruction.
Housing
UIE runs a student residence in the centre of Pontevedra, with room for up to 140 residents:
- 50 double rooms (5 adapted for reduced mobility) and 40 single rooms
- Optional full board, every day of the week
- Room cleaning at least three times a week, wifi and coin-operated laundry
- Study rooms and common areas
Academic-year stays run from September to June; the residence closes over Christmas and Easter. Note that UIE's teaching campuses are in A Coruña and Vigo.
