Academia Iria Flavia is a small, family-run Spanish language school in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, which has taught Spanish since 1994. Its courses focus on the Spanish spoken in everyday life and combine classes with cultural activities and trips in and around the city. Intensive courses can be taken in the classroom or online, and students receive a certificate of attendance at the end.

Courses start on set dates throughout the year, and complete beginners can join only on some of them. A level test helps students choose the right course. The school arranges accommodation with Spanish host families, in student residences or in shared apartments, and can also book hotels or private apartments; all accommodation is within 30 minutes of the school on foot or by public transport. Airport transfers can be booked.

Prices for 2026, according to the school's price list:

• Intensive Course 15: €200 per week for 1-2 weeks in the classroom (€185 online), with lower weekly rates for longer stays
• One-to-one Course: from €225 for a 5-hour pack (€215 online) to €800 for 20 hours (€720 online)
• Registration fee: €50 for classroom courses; no fee for online courses. It covers accommodation management, free school activities and teaching materials
• Host family, single room: €42 per night with half board, €50 with full board

The school arranges accommodation before arrival:

• Spanish host families, selected by the school after an interview, with half board or full board
• Student residence option A: a small family-run residence, July and August only
• Student residence option B: a large residence with private bathrooms, open all year
• Shared apartments in the city centre (price on request, varies by season)
• Hotels or private apartments on request

All accommodation is within 30 minutes of the school. Double rooms are only for students travelling together. Airport transfer: €30 one way, €60 return.

Wifi Academia Iria Flavia activity programme chases two main goals: * Help you practice your Spanish in contexts and situations other than the classroom. * Help you gain a wider and more down-to-earth knowledge of Galicia’s culture and society, which is rather different from the image of Spain typically held out of our borders. To this end, the city of Santiago itself provides a valuable help. Here, especially in certain periods of the year, there are plenty of things to do or to see: concerts in all the historic district squares during the summer festivities, many of which are free; museums, also free, as the Etnográfico del Pueblo Gallego (Galician People Ethnographic Museum); film and theater seasons; street shows; all kind of exhibitions… We will keep you up to date about what is going on in Santiago while you are here. Furthermore, Academia Iria Flavia organizes at least 2 free activities weekly. In the summer the average is of 4 activities a week. On the first day of your course, and provided there is a minimum of 5 students beginning the course, we invite you to an orientation tour around the city followed by a drink and tapas in the historic district. This will be your first taste of Spain!.
