Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño Sevilla (EASD Sevilla)
Higher education centre in Seville, Spain
The Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño de Sevilla (EASD Sevilla) is a public school of art and higher school of design in Seville. Its origins go back to 1660, when Murillo, Valdés Leal and Zurbarán founded the Escuela de las Tres Nobles Artes. Students attend either the Pabellón de Chile site (Avda. de Chile, 1) or the Nervión site (C/ Juan de Padilla, 10), depending on their studies, in morning or afternoon shifts.
Its higher programmes are the official higher arts studies in Design (Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de Diseño), which lead to the Título Superior de Diseño, equivalent to a university bachelor's degree. They last four years with 240 credits, including work placements and a final project. Two specialities are offered:
- Interior Design
- Graphic Design
The school also teaches 16 higher and 4 intermediate vocational cycles in plastic arts and design, such as ceramics, gilding and polychromy, cabinetmaking, photography, illustration and gold- and silversmithing; these cycles are public and free.
Admission to the design degrees runs through a single Andalusian application process with a specific entrance test. Holders of a Técnico Superior de Artes Plásticas y Diseño can compete for 20% of places without the test.
