The Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Sevilla (ESAD de Sevilla) is one of the three centres of higher arts education in drama in Andalusia. It depends on the Andalusian regional Ministry of Education (Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Andalucía) and is located at Calle Pascual de Gayangos 33 in Seville. Actors, playwrights and set designers train here.

The school teaches higher arts education in Dramatic Art (Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores en Arte Dramático), equivalent in training and professional category to a university bachelor's degree. Studies last four years (240 ECTS credits) and are organised in three specialities:

  • Stage Direction and Playwriting (Dramaturgy pathway)
  • Stage Design (Escenografía)
  • Acting, with physical (Gestual) and text-based (Textual) pathways

Teaching is mainly practical and attendance is compulsory. Students take part in the productions the school stages each year, some of which are performed at venues in Seville such as the Teatro Central.

Admission requires the Bachillerato (or a pass in the maturity test or the university entrance exam for over-25s) and an entrance test (prueba específica de acceso). Applications are made preferably online through the regional Secretaría Virtual.
