The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) is a public research university in Midtown Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia. Founded in 1885, it is a Carnegie-classified R1 research institution with more than $1.3 billion a year in research awards. More than 56,000 students from all 50 US states and over 146 countries study there. U.S. News and World Report ranks it No. 3 among Most Innovative Schools.
Teaching is organised in seven Colleges covering business, computing, design, engineering, liberal arts, lifetime learning and the sciences. Programmes include:
- Bachelor's degrees (BS) and minors
- Combined BS/MS programmes
- Master's degrees, including MBA and online MS degrees
- Ph.D. programmes
- Professional development: online graduate degrees, certificates, bootcamps and short courses
International students apply through separate first-year, transfer and graduate admission routes. Campus life includes more than 500 student organisations and NCAA Division I athletics. Housing and Residence Life offers residence halls for first-year, transfer and graduate students and also provides information on off-campus housing.

Graduate programmes
Master's degrees (MS and professional master's such as the MBA, M.Arch and MRED) and Ph.D. programmes across all Colleges, for example in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Robotics and Machine Learning. Several master's degrees are also offered fully online, including Computer Science and Analytics. Professional development options include online graduate degrees, certificates, bootcamps and short courses.
Housing
Georgia Tech Housing and Residence Life offers on-campus residence halls for incoming first-year, transfer and graduate students, as well as returning residents. Students apply for housing after receiving their admission offer, and the department also publishes information on off-campus housing options.
