Spelman College is a historically Black college for women in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, founded in 1881. Its mission centres on the liberal arts and sciences and on the education of women of African descent. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award bachelor's degrees, and according to the college, 90% of its faculty hold a doctorate or equivalent. Its alumnae network counts more than 21,000 women in 47 US states and 24 countries.

The campus has 11 residence halls housing about 1,400 students, as well as Living Learning Communities that group students with a shared interest. Applicants apply through the Common Application; there is a separate route for transfer applicants, and the admissions office also gives information on financial aid and scholarships. The campus is at 350 Spelman Lane S.W., Atlanta.

Housing

Spelman has 11 residence halls on campus, housing about 1,400 students. Living Learning Communities bring together students with a shared interest around a theme or focus area, and residents can take on leadership roles in residential life. Room assignment depends on student classification and type, and for all students it starts on the Spelman Housing Portal.
