Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo

Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo (ILM) is a school of Italian as a foreign language on the Tuscan coast, teaching since 1981. Courses run all year round in Pisa and during the summer months in Viareggio, a seaside town where the school is about 150 metres from the beach. Teaching follows the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) from level A1 to C2 and the syllabus of the University for Foreigners of Siena, and each lesson lasts 45 minutes.

Students can choose group lessons, one-to-one lessons or a combination, in person, online or both:

• General, intensive and super-intensive Italian courses
• Long-term Italian courses and a Foundation Year
• One-to-one and online courses
• Italian language certification exams and DITALS exam preparation
• Preparation for Italian university entrance exams (Pisa only)
• Culture courses in cookery, wine tasting and art history

Course prices include an entry test, a certificate of attendance and help with applications for a visa and residence permit. Free-time activities are included, although students pay their own transport and tickets. Students on the Erasmus programme receive a 10% discount on language courses in Pisa.
