John Brown University (JBU) is a private Christian university in Siloam Springs, in Northwest Arkansas, founded in 1919. It has no denominational affiliation and admits students of any faith; students do not have to sign a statement of faith, but all commit to live by a community covenant.
On its main campus JBU offers 52 undergraduate majors, from STEM and business to the arts, and it also runs eight fully online bachelor's programmes and master's degrees in business, education, cybersecurity and counselling. Students can spend an optional study abroad semester in Ireland.
International applicants are admitted on a rolling basis and may submit IELTS (6.5) or TOEFL iBT (80) scores if English is not their first language. The JBU International Office issues the Form I-20 needed for an F-1 student visa, and a separate orientation is held for international students. Through the Walton International Scholarship Program, students selected from Mexico and seven Central American countries (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama) receive a free college education and must return home after graduating. Undergraduates live on campus for at least six semesters, in residence halls, townhouses or apartments.
