Lewis & Clark is a private institution in Portland, Oregon (United States), made up of the College of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Education and Counseling and the Law School. The undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences follows a liberal arts curriculum with 29 majors, minors and pre-professional programmes, leading to a bachelor of arts (BA) degree.
According to the college, the student-to-faculty ratio is 12:1, the average undergraduate class has 18 students, and 13% of students come from outside the United States. The International Students and Scholars office provides specialised advising and immigration services.
International applicants apply through the Common App with no application fee, and standardised test scores have not been required since 1991. International students are eligible for need-based and merit-based aid, and all applicants are considered automatically for scholarships. On campus, the Global Languages and Cultures Living-Learning Community brings together students interested in cultural exchange and study abroad, and financial aid can be applied to Lewis & Clark's overseas programmes.

Applications go through the Common App; there is no application fee and the file is reviewed only once complete.

There are binding Early Decision, non-binding Early Action and Regular Decision rounds; transfer applications are rolling. Admitted students who accept receive the I-20 form for the F-1 visa.
International students are eligible for both need-based aid (most of the aid awarded) and merit scholarships, for which all applicants are considered automatically; there are no athletic scholarships. The Mary Dimond, John Baumler and International Student Scholarship awards are reserved for international students, and graduates of United World Colleges can receive a need-based Davis grant of up to US$40,000 per year. Need-based aid requires the International Student Application for Financial Assistance (the CSS Profile is not accepted) with supporting documents. Students who already hold a bachelor's degree are not eligible.
Undergraduates can live in residence halls on campus, which have communal spaces, kitchens and laundry. The Global Languages and Cultures Living-Learning Community is a residential community for students interested in travel, cultural exchange and study abroad.
