Macalester College is a private liberal arts college in Saint Paul, Minnesota (United States), founded in 1874, about five miles from downtown St. Paul in the Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. It has 2,068 students from 48 states and 111 countries and a student to faculty ratio of 10:1.

Macalester offers 39 majors as well as minors and concentrations in the liberal arts and sciences, with more than 800 courses. Around 60% of students study away, and more than 200 internships are available within eight miles of campus. The college emphasises internationalism and multiculturalism, and its International Student Programs team supports international students with visas and daily life.

International first-year applicants apply through the Common App; classes are taught in English and English test scores are optional but recommended for some applicants. Admission is test-optional for the ACT and SAT. Macalester meets 100% of the demonstrated need of every admitted student, and international students are automatically considered for the Charles J. Turck Presidential Honor Scholarship of up to $40,000 a year.
