Maryville College is a liberal arts college in Maryville, Tennessee (United States), between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the city of Knoxville. Founded in 1819, it is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and combines liberal arts study with professional preparation. It offers more than 70 majors, minors and pre-professional programmes leading to a bachelor's degree, and has opened its first graduate programme, a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary STEM (M.A.T.).
Teaching is in English. Students from more than 28 countries enrol each year, supported by the Center for Global Engagement, which also runs study abroad and an iMentor programme pairing new international students with returning students. Besides full degrees, exchange or visiting students can take undergraduate classes for up to one academic year.
International applicants do not need SAT or ACT scores and there is no application deadline, although the college recommends applying at least three months before classes begin in mid-August or early January. Every admitted degree-seeking international student receives an academic scholarship. Maryville is a residential college: students under 23 must live on campus.
