Norfolk State University (NSU) is a university in Norfolk, Virginia, with a 134-acre campus. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, and its degree programmes are approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
The university has five academic colleges and schools on one campus. It also offers online programmes through NSU Online, an honours degree through the Robert C. Nusbaum Honors College and certificate programmes at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center.
International Student Services prepares the required immigration documents for international students, handles petitions for non-immigrant students, offers advice and counselling, and helps students settle into the Norfolk community. International students on an F-1 visa are not eligible for US federal financial aid, but they may work on campus without separate authorisation and can apply for NSU scholarships.
