Old Dominion University was established in 1930 as the Norfolk Division of The College of William and Mary, and became independent in 1962. It is a public research university, located in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. The institution is known to be one of the largest US providers of online distance learning courses, while it also offers a well-rounded range of degree programs. The college offers excellent support to students and encourages them to study abroad for a semester or a full year. The same applies for internships, volunteer programs, and work abroad opportunities. To end with, Old Dominion is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and rated Best Southeastern College by Princeton Review.
