Solusi University is a private Christian university in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It grew out of the Solusi Mission, an educational and medical mission station set up by Adventist missionaries in 1894; Solusi College was established in 1950 and became Solusi University in 1994. The university reports more than 1,200 students.
Programmes range from diplomas to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees and are organised in three faculties:
- Education, Humanities, Agriculture, Science and Health Professions, for example BSc (Hons) in Nursing Science, B.Ed (Hons) in English and BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science
- Business Administration, for example BCom (Hons) in Accounting, BSc (Hons) in Information Systems and a two-year MBA
- Theology and Chaplaincy, with a BA (Hons) in Theology and an MA in Religion
Graduate options include master's degrees in education, food science and fashion design, and an MPhil and PhD in Educational Administration. Most honours degrees require two A-Level subjects or mature entry. Students can live in on-campus housing, and there are more than 50 clubs and societies. Financial support includes merit scholarships, sponsorship for Seventh-day Adventist Church members and an on-campus work-study programme. Applications are made online through the university website.
