University of Staffordshire
University, Graduate school in Stoke-on-Trent, The United Kingdom
The University of Staffordshire, called Staffordshire University until its change of name in 2024, is a university in the English county of Staffordshire. Its origins go back to 1914, when it began in Stoke-on-Trent as a college for workers in local industries; it later became a polytechnic and then a university. It teaches on three campuses:
- Stoke-on-Trent, the original campus, at College Road in the University Quarter
- Stafford, home of the Centre for Health Innovation for healthcare courses
- London, at Here East in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Teaching is organised in two schools: Digital, Technology, Innovation and Business (DTIB), and Health, Education, Policing and Sciences (HEPS). The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, higher and degree apprenticeships, short courses and distance learning, with subjects that include computing and games as well as health and social care, education and policing. According to the university, every degree course includes access to placements, work experience and international opportunities. A new Student Village provides accommodation on campus.
