Texas A&M University is a public research university whose main campus is in College Station, Texas (United States), in the Houston-Dallas-Austin triangle. It opened in 1876 as the state's first public institution of higher education and is one of 24 institutions in the country designated as a land-, sea- and space-grant university. The main campus has more than 71,000 students, and another 8,000 study at branch campuses in Galveston and Qatar, the School of Law in Fort Worth and other locations in Texas.
The university has 17 colleges and schools offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and professional programmes, an Honors Program and education abroad programmes. Research spans health, agriculture, engineering, energy and defence. Texas A&M is also known for the Corps of Cadets and its Aggie traditions.
International students can apply as freshmen, transfers or graduate students; applicants from non-English-speaking countries must prove English proficiency, and admission advisers are assigned by region. International Student and Scholar Services helps with immigration matters and life in the US. More than 11,000 students live on campus, in 25 residence halls, the White Creek Apartments and The Gardens Apartments, which are open to international students.

Texas A&M offers three types of enrollment to international applicants (non-US citizens and non-permanent residents):
- International freshman: no college credit, or credit earned before secondary school graduation
- International transfer: college credit earned after secondary school graduation
- International graduate: holders of a bachelor's or professional degree
Citizens of non-English-speaking countries must submit proof of English proficiency. Each applicant can contact an admission adviser for their home region. Admission decisions begin in late September.
More than 11,000 students live on campus each year. Options:
- 25 residence halls with live-in staff, and the White Creek Apartments
- The Gardens Apartments, for undergraduate and graduate students who are married, have dependent children, are US military veterans or are international
- Seven Living Learning Communities for students with shared interests
- 12 halls on the Corps of Cadets Quad, required for cadets
