West Texas A&M University (WT or WTAMU) is a university in Canyon, a town of 16,000 in the Texas Panhandle. Founded in 1910, it enrolled 9,257 students in fall 2025 and is a Hispanic-Serving Institution. Its 342-acre residential campus has 61 buildings, plus the 2,310-acre Nance Ranch, and it is home to the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. The student-to-faculty ratio is 15:1.
WT offers 65 undergraduate degree programmes (including eight associate degrees) and 41 graduate degrees, among them an integrated bachelor's and master's, a specialist degree and three doctorates. More than 40 degree programmes are available online, including master's and doctoral programmes, and colleges include the Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences.
The Office of Admissions - International handles applications and I-20 documents. International students who receive a WT scholarship of US$1,000 or more per year may be eligible for lower tuition rates. On-campus residence halls include Living Learning Communities, and WT also runs a study abroad office.

International applicants apply through the WT application or ApplyTexas (non-refundable, non-waivable US$90 fee; US$100 via Common App). They need proof of English proficiency and, if they studied outside the US, a foreign credential evaluation report. To receive an I-20, students must show financial verification covering estimated costs, plus US$6,000 for a spouse and per child. After receiving the I-20, students pay the US$350 SEVIS fee.

Results are valid for two years. Citizens of listed English-speaking countries are exempt.
Estimated international costs for the 2026-27 academic year (fall 2026 and spring 2027): bachelor's (15 credits per semester) US$22,936 tuition and US$3,558 fees, US$44,847 in total with room and board, books and health insurance; master's (9 credits per semester) US$13,974 tuition, US$35,035 in total. Students with a qualifying WT scholarship of US$1,000 or more pay reduced tuition (US$10,096 bachelor's, US$6,270 master's).
International students who receive a WT scholarship of US$1,000 or more per academic year may qualify for lower tuition rates; the university notes that from 2026-27 not all such students will qualify. Admitted students should complete the scholarship application.
