The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) is a university of the University of Texas System serving East Texas (United States) through teaching, research and healthcare. Its 320-acre main campus is in Tyler, less than 100 miles east of Dallas. More than 11,600 students attend, with a 17:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and the Carnegie Classification designates UT Tyler an R2 research institution.
UT Tyler offers more than 90 degree and certificate programmes through eight colleges, from business and health professions to engineering and arts and sciences, in person, online or in hybrid format. It also has a School of Medicine (MD) and the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy.
Students from more than 50 countries study at UT Tyler, supported by the Office of International Programs, International Student Services and an Intensive English Language Institute. Undergraduate applicants need TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5, PTE 53 or Duolingo 105, and some scholarships are reserved for international students. Most of the more than 1,700 residents live in apartment or townhouse-style communities with private bathrooms and kitchens.

Bachelor's programmes are taught in eight colleges and schools, in person, online or hybrid. Areas include:
- Arts and sciences: humanities, natural sciences, communication and the arts (e.g. History, Biology, Communications)
- Business
- Engineering (e.g. Mechanical Engineering)
- Nursing (BSN)
- Health professions: public health, healthcare administration, rehabilitation, exercise and movement science
- Education
Graduate options include master's degrees, PhDs, DNP and EdD doctorates, and graduate certificates, for example:

- MS Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Leadership and Mechanical Engineering

Graduate assistantships and an international fellowship help fund graduate study.

- Graduate: apply online; deadlines and extra documents (letters, CV, statement of purpose) vary by programme

Admitted students receive an I-20 after showing sufficient funds.

Exemptions apply to holders of US diplomas or degrees, applicants from listed English-speaking countries, and those who complete the required level of UT Tyler's Intensive English Language Institute. TOEFL code: 6850.
UT Tyler awards merit, talent and need-based scholarships to incoming first-year, transfer, international and graduate students; several freshman and transfer scholarships are reserved for international students. International students who receive competitive scholarships of at least US$1,000 may qualify for a waiver of non-resident tuition. Graduate students can apply for assistantships and an international fellowship.
More than 1,700 students live on campus, most in apartment or townhouse-style communities with private bathrooms and in-unit kitchens. The six housing options range from double suites in a residence hall to four-bedroom townhomes, all with WiFi, laundry and TV streaming; utilities and furniture are included and there is no housing deposit. Students with fewer than 60 credit hours must live on campus if space is available. Staff are on duty 24 hours a day.
