Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) is a member of the Texas A&M University System, located in Kingsville, South Texas, a city of 25,000 about 40 miles southwest of Corpus Christi. Its main campus covers about 250 acres with more than 80 buildings, plus a 545-acre university farm. TAMUK has about 6,553 students from 40 states and 35 countries; about 7% are international students, and the student-to-faculty ratio is 16 to 1.
The university is accredited to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Undergraduate programmes cover agriculture (including range and wildlife management), engineering, sciences, business, education, nursing, music (including sound recording technology) and the humanities, and an Honors College serves high achievers.
The Office of International Programs & Services handles international admission, F-1 and J-1 student services, study abroad and exchange programmes. Its English Language Training Center offers an English for academic purposes programme, tutoring and a cultural immersion summer programme. F-1 students must study full-time.

Admission
International undergraduate applicants apply through the TAMUK portal or ApplyTexas and submit:
- Non-refundable US$75 application fee
- Official secondary school transcripts with subjects, marks and graduation date, plus any college transcripts
- Certified literal translations of documents not in English
- English proficiency test scores
- Sponsor's letter and bank statement showing the required funds in US dollars
A decision takes about two months once all documents are in. Admitted students must take a Texas Success Initiative (TSI) test before registering and attend online orientation.
Language requirements
The international admission page lists TOEFL iBT 79 (or 4 on tests taken after 21 January 2026), PTE 53 and IELTS 6.0; competitive Duolingo scores are at least 100. Scores must be less than two years old. Completing the Intensive English Program at TAMUK's English Language Training Center at Advanced Plus level also meets the requirement.
