The English Montessori School (TEMS)

The English Montessori School (TEMS) is a British private school in Madrid for children aged 1 to 18, combining the British curriculum with Montessori education. It is part of the Cognita group of schools. TEMS operates four campuses in the same area of Madrid (postcode 28023):

• Voyager House (Calle Motrico 3): Pre-Nursery to Year 2
• Discovery House (Calle Ganimedes 7): Nursery to Year 2
• Explorer Campus (Calle Sopelana 11): Year 3 to Year 11
• Nexus Navigator Campus (Calle Zumárraga 6): Year 12 to Year 13

In the pre-university years, students choose between three pathways: the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), the Spanish Bachillerato and A levels. According to the school, its graduates are proficient in English, Spanish and French. Lunch is prepared in the school's own kitchen and is compulsory up to Year 11; school buses and morning and evening wraparound care are also available.

Admission follows a seven-step process: an initial conversation, an open day or private tour, application, assessment and interview (compulsory for Year 1 to Year 13), a time-limited offer subject to availability, admissions documentation and enrolment fee, and confirmation of the place.
