UDIMA (Universidad a Distancia de Madrid) is a private university that teaches online and describes itself as Spain's first private online university. It belongs to the CEF.- UDIMA education group, and its offices are in Collado Villalba, in the Community of Madrid. Teaching is organised in four faculties: Education; Business and Technology; Law; and Psychology and Health Sciences.

Classes are given live online and recorded, so students can follow them at any time. To apply, candidates fill in the information request form on the page of the chosen programme; the admissions office assesses the profile within 10 days and then sends the enrolment instructions. Bachelor's students can enrol for a full semester or for individual subjects, and enrolment closes one week before the semester starts. Visits to the Collado Villalba offices are by appointment only.

UDIMA offers 33 official bachelor's degrees online, among them:

The bachelor's degree in History, for example, lasts four years (240 ECTS credits).

Graduate programmes

UDIMA offers online master's degrees, for example the inter-university master's in European Union and China and the master's in secondary school teacher training. It also has four doctoral programmes:

  • Mental Health and Suicide Prevention in the Digital Era
  • Business Economics and Digital Transformation

Doctoral candidates can hold a pre-defence of their thesis, in person or online.

Admission

Applicants start through the information request form on each programme page. The admissions office checks the applicant's previous studies against the requirements of the degree and decides within 10 days; certified copies of all required documents must then be sent. For official master's degrees, applicants need an official Spanish university degree or one from the European Higher Education Area that gives access to master's study. Graduates of other systems can apply without having their degree homologated, after the university checks that it is of an equivalent level. Some master's degrees have their own access routes.
