Universidad Internacional De Andalucía (UNIA)

University, Graduate school in Baeza, Spain

The Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA) is a public postgraduate university in Andalusia, created in 1994; according to the university, it is one of only two universities of this kind in Spain. It continues the work of two earlier institutions: the historic Universidad de Baeza (1538-1824) and the Universidad Hispanoamericana de La Rábida, which began holding summer courses in Palos de la Frontera in 1943. UNIA has campuses in Baeza (Jaén) and La Rábida (Huelva), its rectorate in the Monasterio de Santa María de Las Cuevas in La Cartuja, Seville, and a technology campus in the Edificio Mena in Málaga.

  • Official master's degrees (másteres universitarios)
  • The university's own postgraduate programmes, such as lifelong-learning master's programmes and expert diplomas
  • Doctoral studies
  • Summer courses
  • Microcredentials

Most master's programmes are taught in a blended format. UNIA sees itself as a link between the Andalusian university system and the rest of the world, especially Latin America and the Maghreb, where most of its international students come from. Each year it runs its own scholarship programme, which can cover tuition, accommodation and living costs, and students can also apply for Erasmus mobility grants.

Scholarships and financial aid

UNIA runs its own scholarship programme every year, focused on postgraduate study: official master's degrees, lifelong-learning master's programmes and specialisation diplomas. Awards can be a full or partial exemption from tuition, accommodation or meal costs, or an allowance towards accommodation and/or living costs. Separate calls cover summer courses and doctoral mobility, and Becas Santander scholarships are also offered. Students can also apply for Erasmus mobility grants.
