University in Cantoblanco, Spain
The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) is a public university of the Community of Madrid, founded in 1968. Its main campus is the Ciudad Universitaria de Cantoblanco, and the Faculty of Medicine has its own campus in Madrid (C/ Arzobispo Morcillo 4). The UAM has about 30,560 students and 3,227 teaching staff. Together with the CSIC it runs one of Spain's first International Campuses of Excellence, and it is a member of the CIVIS European university alliance.
Its official offer comprises 50 bachelor's degrees, 8 double degrees, 87 master's degrees and 34 doctoral programmes, plus nearly a hundred own qualifications. Teaching is organised in these faculties and schools:

About 3,500 students take part in mobility programmes. The campus has libraries, museums and around thirty sports facilities. Students can live in the university's own hall of residence, the Colegio Mayor Juan Luis Vives, or in affiliated residences such as the Residencia Universitaria Erasmo (765 places). Admission to bachelor's degrees requires a valid entrance mark, normally through the PAU; there are specific procedures for students from foreign education systems.

Admission
To enter a bachelor's degree, applicants first obtain a valid entrance mark and then apply for admission to the degrees they want. Access routes:
- University entrance exam (PAU), for students from Bachillerato and higher vocational training (FP de grado superior)
- Access for applicants over 25, 40 or 45 without another qualifying title
- Specific admission procedure for students from foreign education systems
- Admission to continue studies already started, handled by the faculties
Housing
The UAM runs its own hall of residence, the Colegio Mayor Universitario Juan Luis Vives, a mixed, public and secular residence. Other affiliated residences are run externally, such as the Residencia Universitaria Erasmo, with 765 places for UAM students during the academic year. Options are available both on campus and in the surrounding area.
