The Universität Regensburg (UR) is a university in Regensburg, Germany. It is organised into faculties, and its own institutions include the university library (UBR), a language centre (Sprachenzentrum, ZSK), central IT services (Campus IT) and a hospital (Klinikum, UKR). Its programmes include teacher-training degrees (Lehramt). Introductory events for first-semester students start on 5 October 2026.
For researchers, the university supports doctoral candidates, postdocs and tenure-track staff through its Center for Graduate & Postgraduate Researchers (WIN) and internal funding programmes such as UR Fellows, for interdisciplinary projects, and UR Potentials, for early-career scientists. A guest professorship programme funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and the Arts brings academics from abroad to Regensburg for a limited period to make teaching more international.
International students and staff are served by the International Office, which provides information on coming to Regensburg, on mobility programmes and on study periods abroad.
