Language school in Regensburg, Germany
HORIZONTE is a German language school in Regensburg, Bavaria, that has taught German as a foreign language since 1986. The school is in the medieval city centre of Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 120 km north of Munich, with direct trains from Munich airport. It is a small school with a maximum of 80 students; groups have up to 12 participants, with an average of eight.
Courses run year round at all levels, and beginner courses start every four weeks. A free placement test is available before booking.

Programmes
- Standard Course: 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week, 9.00-12.30, 5 to 12 students
- Intensive Course: 24 lessons per week (Standard Course plus Monday and Thursday afternoons)
- Intensive Course Plus 5 or Plus 10: Standard Course with 5 or 10 individual lessons per week (general German, business German, exam preparation, translation, tourism and hotels, health care)
- telc or TestDaF exam preparation: 3 weeks, 10 lessons per week, 4 to 10 students
- One-to-one tuition, face to face or online
- German Teacher Training (Erasmus+ funded)
The school is a telc exam centre for B1, B2 and C1 Hochschule. Beginner courses start every four weeks.
Fees
Course fees for 2026 (in euros):
- Standard Course (20 lessons per week): €210 for one week, €780 for four weeks, €170 for each further week
- Long-term Standard Course: €2,040 for 12 weeks, €3,840 for 24 weeks
- telc or TestDaF exam preparation (3 weeks): €400, exam fee not included
- One-to-one tuition: €58 per lesson, €55 with at least 5 lessons per week
Prices include the enrolment fee, teaching materials, certificate and leisure programme. A summer surcharge of €30 per week applies to most on-site courses. Accommodation is charged separately; see the school's 2026 price list.
Housing
HORIZONTE has its own residence in the school building in Regensburg's city centre:
- Single or twin rooms with private bathroom
- Rooms in shared flats (two- to four-room apartments)
- Studio apartments, also for two people
Homestays with breakfast or half board are also available. Accommodation is booked from the Sunday before the course to the Saturday after it ends, and a €100 security deposit is required. Rooms are furnished, with bedding, WiFi, utilities and final cleaning included. For airport transfers the school recommends the local company AirportLiner.
