Abdelhamid Ibn Badis University of Mostaganem (Université Abdelhamid Ibn Badis de Mostaganem, UMAB) is a university in Mostaganem, in western Algeria. It was created as a university by executive decree in 1998 and grew out of the Institute of Agricultural Technology, founded in 1969, and the University Centre of Mostaganem, created in 1978. It is named after Abdelhamid Ibn Badis, a figure of the Algerian Muslim reform movement.

Since its 2016 reorganisation the university has nine faculties and one institute, including a Faculty of Medicine (opened in 2011) and a Faculty of Law and Political Science. Doctoral training is offered through a national entrance competition, announced for the 2026-27 academic year. The university takes part in Erasmus+ exchanges and regularly publishes calls for mobility scholarships, for example to the University of Alicante in Spain, Sapienza University of Rome and Riga Technical University.

International students are supported by a Foreign Students Office ([email protected]) and by a contact person in each faculty. Mostaganem has eight university residences, whose places are allocated by the local Directorate of University Services (DOU).
