The Université de Mayotte (UMAY), which also uses the name Centre Universitaire de Formation et de Recherche de Mayotte (CUFR), is a higher education institution in Mayotte. Its campus is at Iloni, in Dembeni. It holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021-2027 and organises Erasmus+ study mobility.

It offers bachelor's degrees (licences), professional licences and university diplomas in several fields:

  • Law, economics and management: licences in Law and in Economic and Social Administration
  • Literature and humanities
  • Sciences and technology: licences in Life Sciences and in General Mathematics, in partnership with the Université de Montpellier
  • Education sciences
  • Professional licences in project and territorial development (European project management) and in organisation management
  • A BUT in GACO, continuing education and university diplomas (DU)

General licences can also be entered in the second or third year on the basis of an application file. From 2026/2027, students from outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland pay differentiated tuition fees, set nationally at EUR 2,902 for a licence. The institution also runs a 'Prépa Talents' programme, a Campus Connecté and a documentation centre.

Admission Requirements

General licences in law and economic and social administration can be entered in the second or third year on the basis of an application file (for the Licence de droit, applications closed on 30 August 2026 for 2026/2027). Professional licences admit students to the third year on the basis of an application file.
