Syddansk Universitet (University of Southern Denmark, SDU) is a Danish university that teaches in five study cities: Odense, Esbjerg, Kolding, Sønderborg and Vejle. It has faculties of Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences and Engineering, and from 1 September 2026 its business economics departments are grouped in a new faculty, SDU Business School.

SDU offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees (kandidat), engineering degrees, continuing education and PhD programmes. Bachelor's programmes are taught in Danish or in English. English-taught bachelor's programmes include:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, at SDU Vejle
  • Electronics, in Sønderborg
  • Engineering, Innovation and Business, in Sønderborg
  • European Studies, in Sønderborg
  • Business Economics (HA), in Sønderborg

SDU Vejle is a new international IT campus that has recently opened. Some master's programmes can also be started in February; the application deadline for that intake is 15 October.

Admission

you must have a qualifying examination you have to fulfill the specific entry requirements for some of the programmes, you have to fulfill the requirement of a specific grade score or pass an entrance examination - the aptitude test Quota 1 - Danish qualifying examinations Quota 2 - foreign examinations/exemptions Quota 3 - non-EU applicants With a non-Danish qualifying examination, you have to apply before 15 March, noon.
