The University of Mississippi, known as Ole Miss, is a public R1 research university whose main campus is in Oxford, Mississippi (United States), with regional campuses in DeSoto, Tupelo, Booneville, Grenada and Rankin and the UM Medical Center. It has served the state for 178 years.

Ole Miss offers more than 200 academic programmes, including more than 90 undergraduate majors, a Freshman Studies programme for undecided students, competitive programmes for undergraduates and graduate and professional degrees in fields such as business (MBA), accountancy, pharmacy and law. Students can take part in study abroad and in more than 450 student organisations.

The Office of Global Engagement assists international applicants with the application, scholarships and the move to Oxford. International first-year students apply through the online UM application or the Common App, with a $75 fee. English can be shown with, for example, TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0, Duolingo 110 or PTE-A 53; students with slightly lower scores may be admitted with required English courses, and the university runs an Intensive English Program. The university has several scholarships for international students, and first-year housing applications for 2027-28 open on 1 October.
