Mississippi State University (MSU) is a comprehensive, doctoral degree-granting university in the US state of Mississippi, with its main campus in Starkville and further locations in Meridian and on the Gulf Coast, as well as online study. According to the university, it has a nationally and internationally diverse student body.

Undergraduates can choose from more than 180 majors leading to a bachelor's degree, and there are over 200 graduate programmes, many of them available at a distance. A Center for Continuing Education also runs non-credit courses and professional training.

International applicants apply online with a non-refundable application fee of US$60 and certified, translated copies of their school records; MSU recommends a course-by-course credential evaluation by a NACES member agency. Admission is rolling, with no single application deadline. English proficiency can be shown with TOEFL (71), IELTS (6.0) or the Duolingo English Test (105), among other options; students without these scores can apply to the university's English Language Institute. The International Institute coordinates the university's international activities. Admitted students can apply for on-campus housing, with many housing options across campus.
