William Carey University (WCU) is a Christian university in Mississippi, United States, with campuses in Hattiesburg and Tradition (Biloxi), a site in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and online study. It is named after William Carey and has a history of more than 125 years. According to the university, students from over 50 countries have studied on its campus during the past ten years.
WCU offers undergraduate majors as well as master's and doctoral programmes. Its colleges and schools include Education, Health Sciences, Osteopathic Medicine, Nursing, Business, Music, Arts and Letters, Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and Missions and Ministry Studies. An English Language Center serves students who are improving their English.
International applicants apply online, have foreign transcripts evaluated by one of four approved services (WES, SpanTran, GCE or ECE) and show English proficiency with TOEFL, IELTS or the Duolingo English Test. They must also provide proof of finances before the Form I-20 is issued. Full-time students generally live in on-campus residence halls on the Hattiesburg campus, and the university recommends applying early because on-campus housing is limited.
