The Rovira i Virgili University was created from the existing universities of Reus and Tarragona in 1991, and was assigned to the University of Barcelona. The school is situated in the city of Tarragona, Catalonia, and perceives ‘European harmonization’ as the key aim it pursues. 12,000 students are educated in the areas of Experimental Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, and various technical degrees. Together with the undergraduate, master’s and postgraduate degrees offered, the university provides a wide range of continuous learning courses - more than 80 extra-mural courses and more than 30 specialist courses are offered with the aim to make it easier for citizens and business professionals get access to education.
