Universiteti "Aleksander Xhuvani"

Universiteti i Elbasanit "Aleksandër Xhuvani" (University of Elbasan "Aleksandër Xhuvani") is a university in Elbasan, Albania. Teaching and research are organised in four faculties:

• Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences
• Faculty of Business and Law
• Faculty of Natural Sciences, which includes departments such as Informatics and Biology
• Faculty of Human Sciences

The university also runs third-cycle doctoral programmes, including a doctorate in Albanology and one in Technical Medical Sciences. Admission of secondary-school graduates for the 2026-2027 academic year takes place in successive application rounds, with lists of applicants published per faculty.

The university publishes a scientific bulletin, holds international conferences and has an accredited research laboratory. In 2026 it organised the first Elbasan International Summer School on Mediterranean Studies (EISMS) with the Centre for Advanced Researches of Skopje, supported by Adnan Menderes University of Aydin and the Municipality of Elbasan; the summer school covers literature, politics, migration, diplomacy and security studies.
