Engineering Science Studies in Germany
When you think of Germany, what instantly comes to your mind is the best cars globally, modern roads, and all manner of technological advancements. All these are because of the vast developments and research in both the engineering and technology fields in the country. It is this simple reason that makes Germany the best place to study engineering.
Studying engineering in Germany
To study engineering in Germany, students need to have finished their 12 years of schooling. They also have to finish a one-year preparatory course at the Studienkolleg. The requirement for this in most cases is Zertifikat Deutsch, which is followed by an exam referred to as Aufnamheprufung. The final test for the preparatory course is the Assessment test.
A-levels students are expected to pass the English language and literature examination, but this is not viewed as a language component. If a learner has excelled in the English language and literature subject in addition to other necessary subjects, he or she can study Germany in the English language. To study in German, students are expected to pass the B1 level exam in Nepal and another 4-6 months period of German language training which leads to C1 or TestDaF 4 or DSH-2.
Please note that the basic requirements for getting admission for engineering’s foundation course are as follows:
• Good marks in one’s school leaving certificate (at least 75%)
• Good marks in 10+2 or similar (at least 65%)
• German Language Proficiency acknowledged by Goethe Zertifikat B1.
International students are also encouraged to study engineering in the country. This is because most of the organizations, for instance, government organizations, corporations, universities, and research organization, just to mention a few, offer scholarships to such students. These scholarships are meant to cover tuition fees, or to cover a section of a student’s monthly fiscal costs, for example, studying materials, accommodation, food, and so on. This, therefore, makes it a bit easier and cheaper for international students wishing to pursue engineering in the country.
