Bethel University is a private, Christ-centred, four-year university in McKenzie, Tennessee (United States). Established in 1842, it has been affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church since its founding, and it is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor's and master's degrees. The university reports about 3,000 enrolled students and a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Besides the McKenzie campus, it has a site in Paris, Tennessee, for its Physician Assistant programme and an online platform.

Teaching is organised in three colleges:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Health Sciences
  • College of Professional Studies (online programmes for adult learners)

Bethel offers more than 50 undergraduate programmes and five graduate and professional programmes. Students from more than 41 countries study there. International applicants can use the university's online application or the Common Application, and in-person first-year students are considered for merit scholarships of US$4,000 to US$12,000 per year. Students live in residence halls on campus, and the Renaissance performing arts programme and 21 NAIA sports teams also award scholarships.
