The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) is a campus of the University of Tennessee System in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was founded as Chattanooga University in 1886 and blends private and public traditions in higher education. UTC has 12,060 students and offers more than 150 degree programmes and concentrations at bachelor's, master's and doctoral level, some with a 100% online option.

International Student and Scholar Services, part of the Center for Global Education, handles international admission, exchange students and visiting scholars, and there is information for English as a second language students. Activities include an International Buddy Program and a Go Global themed living community. On-campus housing includes private and shared bedrooms, apartments, suites and neighbourhood-style halls. Federal financial aid is not available to international students.

Bachelor's degrees in five colleges plus the Honors College, in areas including:

- Engineering and computing: Chemical, Civil and Computer Engineering
- Sciences: Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry
- Arts and humanities: Art (including Photography and Media Art), Communication, Anthropology, Classics
- Education and health: Art Education, Child and Family Studies, Nursing
The Graduate School offers master's, specialist and doctoral programmes, for example:
- Master's: Business Administration and Computer Science (both with an online option), Applied Mathematics, Athletic Training, Clinical Mental Health
- Doctoral and specialist: Computational Engineering, School Psychology
International graduate applicants pay a US$40 application fee and submit all transcripts and degree certificates earned outside the US.
International undergraduate applicants apply online (choosing "International Undergraduate") and pay a non-refundable US$30 fee. They submit:
- English test scores
- Proof of funds for nine months (two semesters) of study, needed before the I-20 is issued
- Copy of a valid passport
- Original or attested high school diploma and official transcripts, attested by the issuing institution
- SAT scores (strongly encouraged; otherwise an on-campus ACT exam may be required)
Transfer students already in the US also send copies of their I-20, I-94 and a SEVIS transfer verification form.
Undergraduate: TOEFL 61, IELTS 5.5 or Duolingo English Test 85. Graduate: TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0 or Duolingo 100; the MS in Computer Science requires TOEFL iBT 83, IELTS 6.5 or Duolingo 107. Scores must be no more than two years old.
Applicants from approved English-speaking countries, or with a US degree from the past two years, can request an exemption.
On-campus housing offers private or shared bedrooms in apartment, suite and neighbourhood-style halls, with Residential Learning Communities and faculty in residence. International students can join the Go Global themed living community. Graduate and non-traditional students can also apply for housing.
