Lexis Byron Bay is the Byron Bay campus of Lexis English, a family-owned group of English language schools teaching in Australia since 2004, with six campuses in Australian cities and beach towns. The campus is at 16-20 Ruskin Street, Byron Bay (New South Wales), and is run by Byron ELA Pty Ltd under CRICOS provider code 03019J. It is one of the smaller Lexis campuses, with an average class size of 12.

Courses for adults include:

  • General English, full time or part time, five levels from elementary to advanced
  • Cambridge exam preparation (FCE, CAE and Focus courses)
  • IELTS Preparation
  • English in Action, combining English and surfing
  • English with Demi-Pair, and private tuition

New classes start every Monday, and students can continue their course at another Lexis campus. Lexis issues the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) needed for an Australian student visa. A student residence is located on the campus itself.

Courses listed are for students over 18; new classes start every Monday. Two-week Barista or Bar and Cocktail courses can be added.

Admission Requirements

  • Choose campus, course and dates online for a quote, then take a short online English pre-test (General or Academic English) that sets the level and number of weeks
  • To enrol: a valid passport and the pre-test result
  • After accepting the Letter of Offer and paying a deposit, students receive the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for the Australian Student visa (subclass 500), which also needs OSHC health cover, evidence of funds and a Genuine Student statement
  • A placement test on the first day; classes start every Monday

General English is for students aged 18 and over; students aged 16-17 can enrol when no junior programme is running.
