Central Methodist University (CMU) is a private, four-year liberal arts university founded in 1854 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church; it welcomes students of all faiths. Its main campus in Fayette, Missouri (United States), is home to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), with 1,100 students. More than 4,000 further students attend the College of Graduate and Extended Studies (CGES), which teaches online and at sites across Missouri and the region.
The CLAS offers bachelor's degrees in fields such as Accounting, Biology, Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Music, Nursing, Psychology and Sports Management, plus pre-professional tracks (pre-law, pre-engineering, pre-health) and an Honors Program. At graduate level there are master's programmes including an MBA, education, nursing, athletic training, clinical counseling and IT management.
International students are supported by the Global Engagement Office in the Smiley Memorial Library ([email protected]). Applicants can submit ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, EIKEN or Duolingo English Test scores. Students live in residence halls on the Fayette campus, and CMU offers study abroad, service learning and internship opportunities. For 2026-27, CLAS tuition and fees are US$15,160 per semester.

International undergraduate applicants submit a free online application (about fifteen minutes) and provide:
- Proof of secondary education, sent directly to CMU by the issuing authority, and official transcripts of any post-secondary study (SpanTran is a recommended credential evaluation service)
- A test score (ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, EIKEN or Duolingo English Test)
- Financial documents: financial statement and affidavit of support, the International Student Financial Aid Application and a sponsor's bank letter confirming sufficient funds
- A housing/enrollment deposit
Graduate applicants also need two letters of recommendation and a copy of their bachelor's degree diploma.
CMU accepts ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, EIKEN or Duolingo English Test results. The minimum Duolingo English Test score is 95.
Cost of attendance at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (Fayette campus) for the 2026-27 academic year, per semester:
- Tuition and fees: US$15,160
- Room and board on campus: US$5,040
- Books: US$500
Some courses can include additional fees. Graduate tuition and fees range from US$2,745 to US$3,825 per semester (based on nine credit hours), depending on the programme.
Students can live in residence halls on the Fayette campus; roommates are matched through the housing application. The Residential Life office in the Inman Student and Community Center (660-248-6224) handles housing. On-campus room and board costs US$5,040 per semester in 2026-27.
