CETT Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy is an education centre in Barcelona specialising in tourism and hospitality, cuisine and gastronomy, and marketing and events. It has 55 years of experience and, according to the school, more than 2,600 students from over 70 nationalities. Its university school, the Escola Universitària d'Hoteleria i Turisme CETT-UB, teaches degrees awarded by the University of Barcelona (UB).

Depending on the programme, teaching is in Spanish, Catalan or English. Applicants to master's programmes need a B2 certificate in the language of instruction, take a diagnostic test and may be interviewed. The campus on Av. Can Marcet has technical kitchens and restaurant classrooms, the Alimara University Hotel and the Àgora BCN University Residence. The school states that it offers more than 1,100 internship offers.

Admission

  • Bachelor's degrees: students with a Spanish bachillerato apply through the Catalan University Access Portal (pre-enrolment and PAU registration); students with foreign qualifications follow the University of Barcelona procedure, which depends on whether they have started or completed university studies
  • Master's programmes: online application with CV and motivation letter, a language diagnostic test, and an interview if needed; selection weighs the academic record and language level (40%), professional experience (20%) and the interview (40%)

Language requirements

Master's programmes require a certificate of at least CEFR level B2 in the language of instruction:

  • Catalan: official B2 certificate, unless secondary education was completed in Catalan
  • Spanish: B2 through a recognised certificate (ACLES, CRUE or DELE standards, not older than two years), for non-native speakers
  • English: B2 in all four skills (Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent), for non-native speakers
