It was founded in 1970 and in 2026 joined the SIS Swiss International School network, a group of 20 schools in Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, Italy and Spain that belongs to the Klett Group. CSM by SIS is the first SIS school in Spain.

Families choose between two bilingual pathways: Spanish-German or, new, Spanish-English. The school takes children from age 2 to 18:

  • Pre-Kindergarten (ages 2-3)
  • Kindergarten (ages 4-5)
  • Primary School (ages 6-12)
  • Secondary School (ages 13-16)
  • College and IB Diploma (ages 17-18)

The school is a candidate school for the IB Diploma Programme. It runs a full school day from 09:00 to 16:00 or 17:00 depending on the stage, with lunch cooked in the school's own kitchen and five school bus routes covering different areas of Madrid. Admission is open throughout the school year; no prior knowledge of German or English is required up to Year 6, and a language access programme supports pupils joining Primary.
